Resource productivity and climate change
In the 2016 reporting year, we were able to look back on 20 years of environmental management in accordance with the European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).
This work pays off in many different ways. For one thing, we fulfil our role as a responsible company that recognises and strives to minimise the ecological impacts of its operations as far as possible. For another, we live up to our responsibility as a company within the framework of Germany’s sustainability strategy, because the objectives of this strategy can only be fulfilled through the combined efforts of all stakeholders.
Last but not least, our environmental management also gives us an important competitive edge, as EMAS certification and the regular publication of our sustainability reports are increasingly becoming market entry conditions, above all in the public sector but in the private sector, too. ASSMANN has done its homework in this respect: we not only sell products that are environmentally friendly, we also manufacture them in ecologically responsible production processes.
