ASSMANN nominated for German Sustainability Award

Melle-based office furniture manufacturer in the race for Europe's most important sustainability award

ASSMANN Büromöbel GmbH und Co KG is one of the few medium-sized companies to publish a comprehensive sustainability report every two years. The report documents and explains in detail the achievements in the field of sustainable thinking and action. Based on this comprehensible, lived sustainability strategy, the Melle-based family business has currently been nominated for the German Sustainability Award, the largest of its kind in Europe.

"The nomination shows that we are at the forefront of sustainability," says Dirk Aßmann, managing partner of ASSMANN. "This proves that our company strategy, which has been consistent for years, is also attracting a great deal of nationwide attention". ASSMANN has been operating an established environmental management system for 20 years now and relies on natural resources. This concerns the use of renewable energies as well as reusable materials or wood from sustainable forestry. Employees are also trained and made aware of this important issue through regular training courses.

The winners of the German Sustainability Award will be announced and awarded on 22 November 2019 in Düsseldorf at the German Sustainability Day - the most frequently visited annual communication platform on the subject of sustainable development. The prize is an award for outstanding achievements in sustainability in business, municipalities and research. The nomination and awarding is carried out by the Stiftung Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis e.V. in cooperation with the Federal Government, local umbrella organisations, business associations, civil society organisations and research institutions.
