EcoVadis Gold Medal Rating 2023

ASSMANN receives top rating for its sustainability communication

Another award for sustainable commitment. ASSMANN Büromöbel GmbH & CO. KG has once again been awarded the gold medal in the sustainability ranking by EcoVadis, one of the most renowned auditing companies. This was also awarded in 2019. An overall rating of 70 out of 100 possible points was achieved, reflecting an increase of more than 10 per cent compared to the previous assessment period and a result well above the industry average. ASSMANN is therefore in the top five percent of all companies that are currently evaluated by EcoVadis. Among other things, the office furniture manufacturer from Melle achieved top ratings in the categories of Environment (70/100 points) and Labour and Human Rights (80/100 points). In addition to the regular audits for high-quality management certificates, the comprehensive and transparent sustainability communication was rated extremely positively. This applied equally to the website, the voluntary award-winning sustainability report “#getting_ahead” and the current declaration of the German Sustainability Code (DNK).

"We are very pleased that we have again received the EcoVadis Gold status sustainability rating as it is an important confirmation of our efforts and activities related to this topic, which is very important to us," says Dirk Assmann. However, the managing partner also emphasised the fact that the suggestions for improvement associated with the independent assessment are both motivation and impetus for ASSMANN to continuously optimise its sustainability communication, among other things. "Especially in the areas of ethics and sustainable procurement,” he says, “we want to become better and even more transparent in the future."

For the independent Sustainability Ranking 2023, over 900 companies in the furniture industry around the world were compared and evaluated. To date, EcoVadis has evaluated more than 100,000 companies from all over the world according to the criteria of Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. The internationally recognised results reflect the quality of the company's complete sustainability management system.
