ASSMANN reorganises its leadership for the future

Management restructuring at the Melle-based manufacturer of office furniture – Karla Aßmann becomes the 4th generation to join the management team at the family-run company

ASSMANN Büromöbel GmbH & Co KG is reorganising its management structures to meet the challenges of the future. Karla Aßmann officially joined the board of the family-run company as managing director on February 15th of this year. Coordinating with Michael Vogel, former managing director at ASSMANN Digital GmbH, she will assume overall responsibility for national sales as part of a dual leadership team. Kersten Fischhöfer, former national sales manager, will, at his own request, take charge of strategic expansion and the ongoing development of key account management within the sales division, an area that is becoming increasingly important for the long-term success of the company.

In the medium term, Karla Aßmann will become the 4th generation to take the reins at the Melle-based office furniture manufacturer. This will ensure that the values espoused by the owner-run family business are preserved in the long term going forward. ASSMANN will remain a dependable partner for specialist dealers and their customers, as well as an attractive employer with deep roots in the region. The restructuring of ASSMANN’s management team will be rounded off by the establishment of human resources as an independent management unit. This will remain within the purview of the current head of human resources, Alexander Epping.

“With our organisation and human resources, we are now in a strong position to continue pursuing the goals set out in our strategic plan. Restructuring the management team is the next logical step in successful company succession, for which the goals were defined at an early stage”, says Dirk Aßmann. The managing partner emphasises: “I firmly believe that the new remits and structures are the right steps to ensure a successful future for the company.”

An overview of the new ASSMANN management units from February 15th, 2023:

Dual leadership to emphasise the importance of sales

The new dual leadership in charge of the sales division is the result of considerable thought on how to ideally prepare the company for future challenges, while still preserving the values embraced by the family company. In his new role, Michael Vogel, managing director of ASSMANN Digital GmbH for over a year now, will take charge of the north and south sales regions, as well as key account management. He will remain managing director of ASSMANN Digital GmbH. For her part, Karla Aßmann will be responsible for workplace consulting and customer service, as well as service and assembly and will ensure the ongoing development of these areas.

Expansion of key account management

The strategic development of key account management will continue in view of the challenges and goals of the family business. Kersten Fischhöfer, long-standing head of national sales, is moving to key account management at his own request and will coordinate closely with the sales partners to focus the sales activities.

Human resources is now a separate business unit

Human resources will be added to the ASSMANN management board as a new unit with immediate effect. “Among the strategic areas we need to address are the continued development of our corporate culture at all levels and the establishment of a learning organisation. They will be tackled collaboratively by the management board”, says Karla Aßmann. We are delighted to have recruited our head of human resources, Alexander Epping, to this strategic position.

The other ASSMANN business units and responsibilities will remain unchanged.
