GISA, founded in 1993, is a holistic IT service provider, employs over 660 people at seven locations in Germany and is considered one of Europe's most attractive IT employers. Many of GISA’s qualified and highly successful working practices have been certified and have won numerous awards. The company recently converted its headquarter offices in Halle, Germany, where it employs 107 people, into a 2200-m² open-plan office space. Andreas Graf, Head of Facility Management, described the aspirations for the office’s interior design as follows: "We wanted to create a space that would be both open and functional, and in which several interdisciplinary teams would be able to think and work together at the same time, thus fostering a sustainable culture of innovation. Dividing this open-plan space in such a way that it would include both open-plan office space and self-contained meeting rooms was the best way to meet these requirements. To a large extent, the resounding success of this project is also very much due to our fantastic collaboration with ASSMANN and its partners." These partners included Volker Thiel from BREVO-SERVICE, an office supply company, Kathrin Naumann from Heuer & Tonne, who acted as project manager, as well as office designers from unitel Bürosysteme oHG, all of whom allowed ASSMANN to efficiently pool the various expertise required for the project’s completion. The main challenge faced by ASSMANN’s designers was the need to convert the existing separate office rooms into an open-plan office comprising open-space solutions, group work rooms, meeting rooms, communication zones and break rooms. This was achieved using Canvaro sitting/standing desks, the Applica cable management system, Syneo lounge furniture, Pontis folding tables and Allvia storage elements. Some of the workstations were also screened off with individual partition wall systems to create quiet work spaces for those who need them. Moreover, the office’s customised acoustic concept has reduced the noise level to a very pleasant level. This is an office engineered to foster creativity and communication across GISA GmbH’s entire workforce. And all of our staff here at ASSMANN would like to wish GISA a fantastic new start in their innovative office space.
